New Moon Tonic is fire cider or master tonic brewed on the new moon

Ok, so what exactly does that mean? And what does it have to do with the moon? Well, here's a breakdown of what exactly Fire Cider or Master Tonic is....

Fire cider/master tonic is made from raw, simple, and powerful ingredients that we use to cook with every day.

Here are some (of the many) benefits to Fire Cider:

•It is antibacterial as well as a potent antibiotic.
•Fire cider is really effective against strep throat, chest infections, coughing, and congestion.
•Fire cider is anti-fungal and helps the liver to halt the candida overgrowth while the body detoxifies itself.
•Apple cider vinegar itself has amazing benefits such as lowering blood pressure, removes plaque from arteries, and lowers cholesterol.
•Horseradish and habanero peppers are very good at improving blood circulation and energizing the body.
•There are a number of antioxidant compounds in fire cider that are proven to be very effective against cancer.
•Fire cider is one of a very few natural tonics and remedies that cover the whole nine yards when it comes to arthritis and pain.
•Fire cider can really help with digestive disorders like bloating, upset stomach, nausea, heart burn, indigestion and so much more.

What does any of this have to do with the moon?

It is believed that if you brew your tonic on the new moon and strain it on a full moon, it will be much more powerful. There is generally a 14-day gap between the new moon and full moon but I like to brew for a longer period, so I brew on a new moon and wait about 45 days until the following full moon. Whether or not you believe in the power of the moon, it can't hurt!

Fire cider is considered a remedy and tonic at the same time. If you feel that you are getting the cold or flu, it has been advised to take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.

As a tonic, you can take 1 tablespoon daily to boost your immune system and to prevent you from getting sick.

For people who don’t like it hot and spicy, you can add honey and that should balance the spiciness.

Fire cider can be enjoyed by itself or can be added to salads or other foods as long as it’s not used to cook with or exposed to any heat. In general, fermented foods are best consumed cold because that’s when they keep their healing properties and health benefits.

*Fire cider is a very strong tonic and it’s best to not take it on an empty stomach, especially people who suffer from stomach ulcer should take extra caution and preferably to be taken with meals.

**There is strong evidence that horseradish can lead to miscarriage especially in early pregnancy. I strongly advise consulting your doctor before you take this tonic or any other remedy or tonic that contains horseradish.

***Consult your doctor, If you are taking blood-thinning medications. Many of the ingredients in fire cider can interfere with these medications.
